MOMENTS WITH FAITH (Episode 1)

You know, certain people come into your life and nothing makes sense anymore. In rare cases, some people come into our lives and a whole lot makes sense. But in this case, it was none of that. This person came into my life and everything changed. For good or worse??? Well, we’ll find out… Where it all started; Twitter. Yeah I know what you are already thinking. But don’t worry, this isn’t one of those twitter stories you have heard before. And just in case you think it’s a tragic story, well, you’re free to think because I don’t even know if it’s a tragic one. Life hits us with some events and experiences that either mar us or make us. In my case, it was more of an experience to grow into and learn from. I had lost my favorite human in the world and I was struggling to live with the realization that she’s absent and not coming back anytime soon. Now, we all react differently to tragic experiences. We initiate different coping mechanisms when we have a negative experience. We all react ...

WONDERFULLY MADE

At some point in my life, I got caught up in measuring myself against my friends, the women I’d pass on the street, and even random girls on IG - wishing I was made differently. Wishing I had a different clothing size, skill set, or personality trait. But God doesn’t make mistakes. Those things I wanted to change about myself were handpicked for me by the Creator of the heavens and the earth. When you look at God’s creation in nature, you don’t critique the shape of the mountainside or complain about the local plant life or wildlife. You just accept it as beautiful, despite - and maybe even because of its imperfections. But we complain about ourselves. And when we do so, we’re dishonoring our Creator and telling Him, “Your masterpiece is flawed.” "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them". (Ephesians 2:10)  Can you think of a recent project you worked really hard to complete? Maybe you spen...

WILL YOU MARRY YOU?

This is a common question that you can find on self help inventories. And most times we're asked casually by our friends and family. While so many folks usually have an immediate Yes or No response to this question, the question is more elaborate than it seem to be. There are aspects to this question. Let's break it down into three parts.  WILL YOU MARRY SOMEONE WHO IS IN THE SAME LIFE SITUATION AS YOU? WILL YOU MARRY SOMEONE WHO IS IN THE SAME FINANCIAL SITUATION AS YOU? WILL YOU MARRY SOMEONE WHO HAS THE SAME LIFE ACHIEVEMENTS AS YOU?  From life observations, we all want to marry someone richer, we want to marry someone more advanced in life, we want to marry someone younger. But then, instead of looking for someone who will have all the achievements you want in a partner, why not make yourself that person. I bet your answers to the above questions was NO. No you can't marry someone who is in the same social class as you, and probably your social class isn't so good...

NIGERIA (OUR SUPPOSED GIANT OF AFRICA)

Ever wondered why the average Nigerian's dream is to travel out of their country of origin? Ever wondered why the rich elites are flown out of their country of origin for treatment when they're faced with any health challenge? Ever wondered why the rich parents prefer their kids to study outside the country? Ever wondered where the wife and kids of the governor of your state is? Abroad obviously. Ever wondered why the rich prefer to spend their holidays or vacations abroad? So many questions with answers that you obviously know. So when next you're asked what the average Nigerian dream is, simply say TO TRAVEL ABROAD. Quick question, why do the citizens of the supposed giant of Africa keep traveling out for literally everything, including ice-cream(gelato)? Well they're living the Nigerian dream when they can afford it. Most Nigerian's are hustling just to be able to afford a trip out of the country and in most cases they never return. Back to the question of why t...

LIFE MOMENTS:IS THE POLICE REALLY OUR FRIEND?

The Nigerian Police Service as a law enforcement agency is primarily established to protect the lives and properties of the citizens. At least that is what's supposed to be their job. But make no mistake about your relationship with the Nigerian Police. Nowhere in the world is the police your friend. I don't know who came up with the mantra "The Police is your friend", but I bet you this particular statement doesn't apply to the Nigerian Police. Citizens are constitutionally entitled to the right to be protected by its police and are guaranteed by the highest law of the nation, but SOME of these officers make it a duty to deprive citizens of their rights. Yeah you read that right, SOME officers, because i can't condemn all. Remember the Idiom about "few bad eggs", well it's quite obvious the bad eggs in our police units are more than the good ones, and eventually the bad eggs will corrupt the good ones. The mantra "The police is our friend...

RELATIONSHIP MOMENTS: Cheating is a choice not a mistake.

Cheating is an act of cowardice and it has nothing to do with making mistakes by accident. We've all been cheated on by someone we loved with all our heart, we understand the pain of being broken into pieces and not being able to breathe properly because our world is suddenly falling apart. You know the whole feeling of being a second choice to someone who was your priority. But there's one thing you need to understand as well; you chose them but they chose to cheat on you. So don't you dare think or let them persuade you that cheating on you was just a mistake. And now they realize that they shouldn't have done it. Cheating is not a mistake. It is an intentional decision. A mistake is a misguided action, something you miscalculated or blundered or was wrong about. You didn't miscalculate or blunder your decision to cheat. You accepted it at that moment. And although it was wrong, it was not miscalculated. The moment you decided to engage in the affair, you crossed...
